Centrifugal pumps use centrifugal force to pump liquids. Inside the housing there is a paddle wheel that is set in rotation. The rotational momentum causes the liquid to pass from the suction pipe into the spiral-shaped pump housing and is conveyed to the pump outlet.
Pedrollo centrifugal pumps are ideal for reliable, energy-efficient water supply in modern industrial buildings. With drives of energy efficiency class IE3, the entire building can be permanently and efficiently supplied with water.
Pedrollo centrifugal pumps can be designed with an open impeller construction to pump liquids with a high percentage of impurities without blockages. This makes the pumps ideal for the supply and discharge of water in car washes.

Various Pedrollo submersible pumps are capable of handling solids with a diameter of up to 50 mm. This means that solids-laden liquids such as sewage and sludge can be discharged without any problems.
Standardised centrifugal pumps are generally not capable of pumping liquid from a dry suction line. However, special pump designs from Pedrollo are capable of venting the suction line and independently sucking in the lower-lying liquid.
Multistage centrifugal pumps basically work according to the same principle as single-stage centrifugal pumps: the rotation of the impeller creates a flow which is converted into pressure energy by means of diversion. After each stage, the flow is diverted again by guide wheels and fed to the next stage.
